ICS 62: Game Technologies and Interactive Media

Project, part 2 - (mostly) due Thursday, May 5, at 11:55pm

  • Individually, complete the quiz on team effectiveness at https://eee.uci.edu/quiz/OH44pHJ9si, open from early Friday morning to Sunday at 11:45pm. Note that the quiz has an earlier due date!

  • As a team, create a tiny prototype/demo of your game - ideally in Unity 3D, but paper sketches are fine - and show these to your TA in discussion on May 4.

  • Incorporating Prof. Frost's comments on your April 28 game proposal and your own continued thinking, revise your team's game proposal. You will probably have some changes to the concept or design, and you should also add details and specificity. Make sure your updated proposal clearly delineates persuasive goals of the game, and the procedural rhetoric you will be using. Revise the list of assets, as needed. At the end of the document, copy in ScheduleTable.docx, which all team members should contribute to. Change the team name and the team members' names appropriately. (If your team has four members, use two copies of the table.) In each cell of the Schedule Table, enter the deliverables that the team member plans to complete by the given date. Try to be as specific here as possible. "Complete enemy AI" is a fairly weak deliverable. "Write script for Alice model so that it shrinks when she drinks the 'Drink Me' potion." is much better. Upload one copy per team of the revised proposal to the EEE Dropbox "ICS 62 - Proj 2".

  • Plan to give a short presentation of your game plans in discussion during week 7.
